On July 27, 2007 Inter-Tel announced the release of the Inter-Tel 3000, the successor to the EncoreCX.

A little later, Inter-tel was bought by Mitel.

The Inter-Tel 3000, or Mitel 3000, can handle up to 20 lines and 52 phones (12 of them IP phones), and features both a new broadband module and a new IP phone. It can provide IP connectivity for small offices, home offices and remote locations.

Building upon the success of Inter-Tel's larger VoIP systems, the 5000 and 7000, the 3000 is designed to be a user-friendly platform that carries both voice and data.

Its broadband module supports high-speed Internet access as well as VoIP traffic for off-site phones. The module is also designed to provide Local Area Network (LAN) capabilities, allowing users to network PCs and other devices, including IP phones and 802.11 wireless devices.

Complementing the module is the new Inter-Tel 3000 IP Phone, a hands-free, full-featured phone with six-line display, 16 programmable keys, message light, and headset jack.

The Mitel/Inter-Tel 3000 is easy to install and upgrade, and is designed to allow users to administer the system as needs change.

If you have an EncoreCX, you can upgrade your system to the Mitel/Inter-Tel 3000 with a software installation, and install the broadband module if you want to use IP phones.
